Meeting Your Packing Needs, One Solution at a Time.

JohnPac supplies steel strapping, tools, and accessories that provide reliable pallet unitization solutions for a wide range of industry-specific applications.
Our high-quality, domestic steel strapping offers numerous options for dependability, securing and stabilizing palletized loads of any size, weight,
and configuration. Steel strapping is one of the ideal product for securing loads for the least amount of compromise. Strapping’s pricing is economy
based and fluctuates with the cost of steel. A rise in cost in previous years drove suppliers to seek cheaper sources and import products. Importing
steel has compromised the integrity of the product. It’s not AAR approved, gauging varies more than the standard .002 range. JohnPac has worked diligently
with manufacturers to supply domestic steel at competitive pricing against the import sources. This has given our customers reliable weight, gauging,
and footage for each coil.

Steel Strapping sizes range from 3/8” to 2” but the most common sizes are 5/8”, ¾” and 1-1/4”. Gauge, or thickness, can range from .020 to .044 but most
common is .023 on sizes ¾” and under. The 1-1/4” ranges from .029 and .031. The .044 gauge is applied to 2” steel. Steel is priced by weight and standards
are 90-100lb coils. The variations of gauge on equal width coils only change the length of coils and not the price or weight.

Steel strapping’s effectiveness is only as good as the seals and tools used for applications. Each strapping used needs the equivalent size seal. There
are a few variations of seals from open, closed, semi-open and serrated. The tools need for secure applications are tensioner, seal crimper, and cutter.
There are combo tools with all tools combined within and pneumatic & battery operated tools.

Steel strapping is used in numerous industries and opens up a number of options for secured heavy duty packaging. It’s used in lumber, construction, recycling,
scrap metals, plumbing, brick, etc.
