Farmers have taken to the fields to harvest their first crop of rice. This in part was due to enough dry weather. Production of rice has had a strong outcome with approximately 45 barrels per acre yields right here in south Louisiana.

“Yields have been good, and it seems overall to be a very good crop,” said Jeremy Hebert, LSU AgCenter agent in Acadia Parish. “Overall, it seems like the yields have been very good.”
